Configure your Windows Vista/7 Firewall:
If you are unable to connect to the download network, your Windows Vista/7 firewall
may not be properly configured to allow access to ZiggyTV. Follow these instructions
to properly configure your firewall:
- Go to Start -> Control Panel,
- Click on Network and Internet,
- Click on Allow a Program through Windows Firewall,
- Click on the General tab,
- If your firewall is On (recommended) go to step 7,
- If you want to enable the Windows Vista firewall, click the radio button
beside On and then click Apply at the bottom. (If you are not interested in
enabling your Windows Vista firewall, hit Cancel -- ZiggyTV will not be affected),
- Click on the Exceptions tab at the top,
- Click the Add Program button,
- Find ZiggyTV in the list and add it,
- Now click on the Add Port button,
- In the Name field, enter Gnutella, and in the Port Number field, enter 6346.
Make sure the TCP radio button is selected (checked),
- Click on OK,
- Now click on the Add Port button again,
- In the Name field enter Gnutella, and in the Port Number field, enter 6346.
Make sure the UDP radio button is selected (checked),
- Click OK, and
Make sure the list of services has two items labeled Gnutella, and make
sure they are both checked.
- Click OK.
